Mapping Augustan Rome
Penn: University of Pennsylvania

Mapping Augustan Rome would not have been possible without generous funding from The 1984 Foundation, Philadelphia; The Williams Publication Fund, Art History Department, University of Pennsylvania; Charles K. Williams, II, Philadelphia; and Richard M. Thune, New York.  In addition, the Center for Italian Studies at the University of Pennsylvania awarded Salvatori Research Grants to two graduate students allowing for their research in Rome, and the Art History Department of the University of Pennsylvania funded D.G. Romano’s special teaching load in Spring 1999.  Our sincere thanks to those whose vital support enabled us to pursue the project over its four-year course and bring it to a published conclusion.
We would also like to express our appreciation for all who supported the project with their advice, criticism and encouragement, especially:  J. Blatteau, R. Holod, E. Johns, A. Kuttner, C.L. Striker, H. Pittman, B.D. Shaw, D. White, C.K. Williams, and P. Zanker.
