Topic in Aegean Bronze Age: Wall Painting

Undergraduate and Graduate students in this seminar will examine the development of wall painting during the Aegean Bronze Age, with an emphasis on the unique iconography of the frescoes. The process of creating a fresco and the different techniques applied to this art form in Crete, the Cyclades, and the Mainland also will be studied. Each student will prepare a term paper and present this paper to the class at the end of the semester. Shorter presentations may be assigned.
