Course Description

An intensive introduction to the art and architecture of Rome and her empire from Republican and later Hellenistic to the Imperial peak. Emphasis on topics ranging portriature, wall painting, architecture to the specific Etrusco-Roman notion of space, and the Greek paradigm in artistic theory and practice.
