Krishna is the eighth incarnation of Vishnu; and Radha, his lover, is usually identified with Vishnu's consort, Lakshmi. Krishna is the divine flute player, and he is shown dancing to the music of his flute. Radha holds a lotus bud as if in offering to Krishna's divine form. Radha and Krishna are the most important deities of Bengali Vaishnavism. Their worship in home shrines continues to be very popular today.
