ARTH 752
Raphael
Instructor: Professor Cole
T 5-7

Course Description

This course, occasioned by the Raphael exhibition scheduled to open at the National Gallery in London in October, will look primarily at the artist's paintings and drawings, though meetings will also be devoted to his work as an antiquarian, to his activities as a designer of prints and sculptures, and to his role as the overseer of a large and diverse group of assistants and collaborators. Students will be asked to prepare research papers on objects included in the show, and to present their findings in front of the works at the end of the semester.
