Course Description
A critical reading of some of the major texts of architectural history and theory, drawing from all periods of Western architecture. Writers to be considered include Vitruvius, Durandus, Alberti, Laugier, Boullee, Hubsch, Ruskin, Viollet-le-Duc, Sullivan, Wright, Le Corbusier, and Venturi. The written work will include several short papers and an examination. |
