Using a range of examples of drawings in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, students will
examine a wide variety of curatorial issues, including cataloguing and writing catalogue entries, writing
exhibition labels, making decisions about conservation treatments, and the consideration and presentation
of new acquisitions. Students may have the opportunity to learn the different perspectives of curators,
dealers, conservators, and collectors of drawings. Written work will include sample exhibition labels,
catalogue entries, and acquisitions justifications.
